Building effective recommender systems for tourists

Recommender systems (RSs) are personalized information search and discovery applications helping users to identify choose useful items information. In this paper, we focus on the tourism application scenario its specific requirements. We discuss a novel RS approach that copes with constraints of domain produces recommendations better match true needs tourists. illustrate proposed next POI recommendation in case study compare it state-of-the-art nearest neighbor-based item RS. With analysis study, aim at illustrating features compared approaches also goal raise discussion RSs validation methods, particular attention applications. finally some significant limitations current evaluation must be addressed future studies.
